PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state laser excitation module capable of generating high power and high brightness laser beam, by performing high uniform excitation using high power excitation light in a side pump configuration of laser medium on sheet. SOLUTION: The solid-state laser excitation module includes a solid-state laser medium 31 having laser beam incident face and exhaust heat face, and an additive-free medium 32 optically bonded to the laser beam incident face. Further the excitation includes: a tabular solid-state laser chip 3 having excitation light incident side face; a slab waveguide 2 having an excitation light output face 11 arranged adjacent to an excitation light incident face 10 and an excitation light incident side face of the solid-state laser chip 3; a total reflection film 5 provided to the exhaust heat face side of the laser medium 31 for reflecting a laser beam which enters from the laser beam incident face and transmits within the laser medium 31; and cooling means 7 for exhausting heat through the total reflection film 5 from an exhaust heat face of the laser medium 31.
