PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically scale an input image to an output image size even for such an image as involves an error in relative positioning between a subject and an imaging device, such as a digital camera. SOLUTION: An image processing device comprises a means for extracting connected components in an input image, a means for calculating a set of connected components in an area corresponding to an output image, and a means for calculating a set of connected components in an area corresponding to a specified scrolling amount.
