<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reader whose operability is improved. <P>SOLUTION: In a bar code reader 10, protectors 18 and 19 and a reading port housing 12 to be set with length γ exceeding the height dimension β of the thickness γ direction of a belt 30 from a back face 10b by the maximum outer shape dimension of the back face 10b side including the belt 30 are installed on the back face 10b of the bar code reader 10 so as to be erected to the length direction so that the back face of key switches 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 can be surrounded. Thus, when the bar code reader 10 is placed on a flat surface G face up, a reading port lower edge part 12d and the protectors 18 and 19 to be set with the length γ exceeding the height dimension β of the thickness direction of the belt 30 are brought into contact with the flat surface, so that the bar code reader 10 is supported. Therefore, even when the belt 30 is installed on the back face 10b, the bar code reader 10 is surely supported by the reading port housing 12 and the protectors 18 and 19, so that the operability of the key switch 21 or the like is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
