PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high-quality image recording by improving an ejection force and also reducing mechanical crosstalk. SOLUTION: The liquid ejection head pressurizes liquid in pressure chambers by utilizing displacement of displacement generating means, and ejects liquid droplets from nozzles which communicate with the pressure chambers. The liquid ejection head is equipped with: a pressure chamber formation substrate where a plurality of the pressure chambers are formed; and a piezoelectric actuator with a first piezoelectric substrate and a second piezoelectric substrate set on both sides of a diaphragm where a hole part or groove part is formed correspondingly to a partition wall between the pressure chambers. The first piezoelectric substrate has first displacement generating means for every pressure chamber, and the second piezoelectric substrate has second displacement generating means for every pressure chamber.
