PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive classifier capable of adjusting a space between upper and lower classifying plates in a visually recognizing manner, and preventing production of dust in a casing. SOLUTION: The classifier is provided with a casing having upper and lower casing bodies, an upper classifying plate 12 arranged in the upper casing body in a fixed manner, a lower classifying plate 11 arranged in the lower casing body in a fixed manner, and a moving means for adjusting the spacing between the upper and lower classifying plates by allowing the upper casing body to vertically slide with respect to the lower casing body. The moving means comprises a main member 2a for constituting the casing bodies, an annular groove-shaped member 2b which constitutes the casing bodies and is movably mounted on the main member, an annular member 2c which closes the opening of the annular groove-shaped member 2b and has a vertical screw hole, and a stepping motor 4 in which a screw engaged with the vertical screw hole is formed in a drive shaft 4a.
