<p>A method for bridging corresponds the combination of one or more ports and a VLAN Identifier with a Virtual Switch Instance (VSI) to fulfill bridging forwarding of the packets among the various VLANs and learning MAC addresses and filtering the source port. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving a packet from an input port, obtaining the input virtual local network identifier VLAN ID and the destination MAC address of the packet; determining the output port and the output VLAN ID of the packet, and forwarding the packet based on the output port and the output VLAN ID. A device for bridging concludes an input port for receiving the packet from more than one VLANs, an output port for transferring the packet to more than one VLANs, and a forwarding unit. The forwarding unit obtains the input VLAN ID and the destination MAC address of the packet received from the input port, determines the output port and the output VLAN ID of the packet, and outputs the packet to the output port. It can realize the Ethernet packet bridging among multiple VLANs according to the method and the device.</p> |
