PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a denim fabric enabling even more various design expressions than conventional cases through eliminating defects involved in conventional denim fabrics. SOLUTION: The denim fabric enabling itself to be put to opal processing 6 is obtained by the following procedure: Indigo-dyed cotton yarns are used as warps, and as wefts, multilayer-type core yarns are used; wherein the core yarns are such that the core consists of polyurethane or polyester filaments, and the core as the first layer is covered with polyester or acrylic staple yarns followed by covering with cotton staple yarns as the second layer; the above warps and wefts are subjected to twill weave. Thereby, the denim fabric can be put to opal processing by printing with sulfuric acid or the like, enabling complicated design expressions to be made easily compared to the cases with conventional damage processing.
