PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen preparation method for a microscope and a sample observation control system by which the kind and the amount of asbestos contained in a sample are efficiently observed with high detection sensitivity, data or the sample and a specimen are preserved correctly from gathering the sample, and efficient reexamination is attained. SOLUTION: Since asbestos has polarization characteristics, when the crystal that is being observed is asbestos, the color to be observed is changed due to the rotation of a polarizing plate, if the polarizing plate is arranged in the optical path of a microscope. By rotatably providing the polarizing plate in the microscope and rotating the plate, while observing the sample, asbestos having polarization characteristics is observed in such a state that its color is changed, whereby asbestos is distinguished from other rock wool or paper fiber.
