PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document feeder capable of stably feeding a document in a reading position. SOLUTION: An ADF 3 has feed rollers 35A to D for feeding the document along a document feed passage 32 continuing with a paper delivery tray 31 via a reading position from a paper feed tray 30, and a switchback roller 43 for returning the document to the upstream side of the reading position by reversing the front end and the rear end of the document from the downstream side of the reading position by a switchback path 39 connected to a predetermined position of the document feed passage 32.
