PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a vehicle wheel embodied in a third generation structure in which the inner ring is fitted by pressure fast to a minor diameter stepped part of a hub ring, capable of enhancing the durability of the hub ring by suppressing a stress generated at the inside corner formed from the hub ring shoulder and the minor diameter stepped part. SOLUTION: The bearing device for the vehicle wheel is embodied in the self-retaining structure such that the inner ring 3 is fitted by pressure to the minor diameter stepped part 2b of the hub ring 2 and is secured in the axial direction relative to the hub ring 2 by a fastening part 2c formed by deforming plastically the end of the minor diameter stepped part 2b outward in the radial direction, in which the inside corner B formed from the shoulder 2d of the hub ring 2 and the minor diameter stepped part 2b is formed in a complex R consisting of a plurality of radii b and c of curvature, wherein the radius of curvature b is smaller than the maximum radius of curvature (a) when a single R is used, while the radius of curvature c is set larger than the maximum (a). Therefore, the contacting area with the minor end face 3b of the inner ring 3 can be secured and the rigidity of the inner ring 3 be established, and it is possible to suppress the stress generated at the inside corner and to enhance the durability of the hub ring 2.
