PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for appropriately automatically maintaining an exposure area of a tool electrode tip end to thereby improve the machining operationality and shorten a machining time in an electric discharge machining method using an electrical insulator sheathed electrode. SOLUTION: The control device always measures the feeding rate to a workpiece of the tool electrode closely related to the exposure area of the tool electrode tip end.
