A lancing device for drawing a body fluid sample from skin is disclosed. The device comprises a body portion and a lancet located within the body portion in a retracted position. The lancet is movable between a retracted position and an extended position and is adapted to puncture the skin in an extended position. At least a portion of at least one of the body portion and lancet has antimicrobial properties.
