The lifting mast for a shelf stacker has a support mast and at least one extendable mast section. It has two lifting drives arranged in parallel on each side of the mast to control its extension. There is a control for both drives to nullify angular deflection of the mast during movement. The drive can have two motors each with a spindle drive controlled dependent on detected deflection.
