A method of playing continuous contents in series in a video-on-demand system and a video-on-demand apparatus thereof are provided to reproduce and watch a series of video contents without disconnection and waste of time. It is checked whether current video contents are a series of contents in meta data(S110). Previous video contents of current video contents and an intrinsic number of the next image contents are checked in the meta data(S120). The previous video contents or the next video contents are downloaded(S130). Reproduction of the previous video contents or the next video contents are initiated(S140).
