<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a window which is equipped with a dimming function that easily and continuously varies the light transmittance of the window at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: The dimming window is comprised of an optical element that varies the light transmittance upon impression thereon of a magnetic field from outside.
