The invention proposes a method of growing the mycelium of the Pleurotus ostreatus fungus, which includes preparation of a nutrient medium on the basis of a maize broth at pH 6.8-7.1, densifying the medium by means of agar-agar in an amount of 2-2.5%, sterilizing the nutrient medium, inoculating the medium with stock mycelium in a concentration of 10-4-10-5% and incubating in a thermostat at a temperature of 26-28 DEGREE C for 7-10 days. The "Fumar" solution (dimethyl ester of aminofumaric acid) is added to the nutrient medium 1-1.5 days prior to the inoculation of the medium with the stock mycelium. Introduction of the biostimulant "Fumar" in a concentration of 10-4-10-5% to the nutrient medium makes it possible to increase the rate of growth and biosynthetic activity due to the effect of the biostimulant on enzymes involved in protein synthesis. The introduction of the "Fumar" solution 1-1.5 days prior to the inoculation contributes to the optimum dissolution and activation of the stimulant in the nutrient medium, and also it allows controlling the purity of the nutrient medium.
