The proposed device for measuring the movement of the armature of an electromagnetic relay contains a reference voltage source, a laser radiation source, a photodetector, which is sensitive to laser radiation reflected from the surface of the relay armature, a recording unit, which is designed for determining the instant of the start and the end of the armature movement, a memory unit, and a comparator. The coil of the tested relay is connected to the reference voltage source via a start button. To perform functions of the memory unit and the comparator, a personal computer can be used. The present device provides a possibility to determine the characteristics of an electromagnetic relay in operating conditions.
