PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element capable of improving light emission characteristics.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element includes: an anode; a light-emitting layer; an anode side hole transport layer provided between the anode and the light-emitting layer and mainly composed of an electron-accepting material; an intermediate hole transport material layer provided between the anode side hole transport layer and the light-emitting layer and containing an intermediate hole transport material; and a light-emitting layer side hole transport layer provided adjacent to the light-emitting layer between the intermediate hole transport material layer and the light-emitting layer and containing a light-emitting layer side hole transport material expressed by a general formula (1) below.SELECTED DRAWING: None
