Cut weft ends (2'a) on a loom are tucked into the fabric by air jets (4). Additional jets (6, 6', 6) placed between the warp threads are directed towards the shed crossing point to assist the process. For an air jet loom, the jets (6) are placed in line with the weft insertion assisting jets (5.1, 5.2). Their position is adjustable and they are timed in conjunction with the weft insertion cycle. Independent claims are also included for a tucking-in device using additional air jets of this kind and for the process of using additional jets in conjunction with mechanical, pneumatic, or pneumo-mechanical tucking-in devices.
|
