PROCESS FOR AGAR PREPARATION OF RED ALGAE GRACILARIA VERRUCOSA

The invention relates to process for agar preparation of red algae Gracilaria verrucosa by preliminary treatment of algae with tap water at temperature of 60 DEGREE C for 0.5 hour. Agar extraction is carried out triply sequentially at pH of 6.5-7.5. The algae of alkaline extraction is excluded from preliminary treatment, this makes it possible to prepare agar with high jellification ability and to increase agar yield.
