PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment liquid coating/drying apparatus which efficiently performs drying by reducing an influence of vaporized steam generated from a recording medium and a pretreatment liquid at the time of drying.SOLUTION: Provided is a pretreatment liquid coating/drying apparatus which includes: a coating device for coating a pretreatment liquid on a recording medium 12 conveyed by conveyance means; and a heating/drying device for drying the recording medium coated with the pretreatment liquid. The heating/drying device includes: a plurality of heating rollers 4a, 5a, and 6a that heat the recording medium 12 under conveyance while contacting it, at a predetermined position in a rotation direction, so that the pretreatment liquid is vaporized; a plurality of temperature detecting means 42a, 52a, and 62a are disposed at a position different from the contacted position of the recording medium 12 in the rotation direction, in proximity to a surface of the heating rollers at a fine interval, in order to detect temperature of the surface of the heating rollers respectively; and droplet transfer preventing means 14 that prevents transfer of liquid droplets adhering to a surface of the temperature detecting means and containing the vaporized pretreatment liquid, to the recording medium 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
