The invention concerns the technology of production of nitric acid. A method of recovery of the particles of platinoid catalyst in the flow of reaction gas at production of nitric acid includes the transmission of the reaction gas flow through the layer of sorbent from granulated composite material, which contains the recovering mass of calcium oxide and binder, into which is added calcium chloride and/or magnesium chloride, and/or magnesium oxide, and also strengthening additive of oxides of aluminum and silicon, and subsequent isolation from the spent sorbent of the platinoid catalyst particles absorbed by it. The use of the invention allows to obtain sorbent with increased strength, to simplify the process of formation of the particles of sorbent and to reach the required degree of recovery of platinoid materials.
