The invention relates to the method of heating a viscous product in the reservoir. Electromagnetic radiation is directed to the viscous product and transformed its energy in viscous product energy. Electromagnetic radiation is formed as surface slow waves. Maximum strength surface of electromagnetic field is located inside near-surface layer of the viscous product to be heat. Decrement of amplitude absorbing of electromagnetic field strength is chosen proportionate to the value, which inverse to depth value of near-surface layer.
