A method for transmitting a menu for WAP-connection in a WAP gateway is provided to prevent a mobile Internet access delay by shortening the time required to download a menu for WAP-connection. If a mobile terminal requests a menu for WAP-connection to a WAP gateway by using a GET message(201), the WAP gateway transmits the GET message to a contents providing server corresponding to the destination IP address of the GET message(202). Then the WAP gateway waits for a header corresponding to the requested menu to be received from the contents providing server(203). The contents providing server transmits only the corresponding header to the WAP gateway(204). The WAP gateway, receiving the header, temporarily withholds the transmission of the header, and waits for body #1(205). If body #1 is received from the contents providing server(206), the WAP gateway integrates the header and body #1 into a single packet and transmits it to the mobile terminal(207,208). Afterwards, if the next bodies are received, the WAP gateway transmits them to the mobile terminal sequentially(209,210). |
