An Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) Multi-Carrier receiver removes In-phase (I) and Quadrature (Q) mismatches using blind (ie. pilot-less) adaptive techniques in which each downconverted signal (12, fig. 4) is resolved (14, fig. 4) into carrier signals (1-8) and then demixed (PE 1-4) to remove cross-coupled contributions from other carriers (8-1, fig. 3). The demixing is achieved by feeding the received symbol (r) and its unwanted complex conjugate (r*) into first and second adaptive filters (72, fig.7) in either feed-forward (fig. 7) or feedback (fig. 8) configurations, yielding channel estimates c1 and c2. |
