<p>A spring mattress comprising a plurality of interconnected coil springs (1) enclosed in covers (2), known as a pocket-spring mattress, is described, wherein at least two springs that are located adjacent to one another are spaced apart by an interjacent separation distance (SA), said separation distance exceeding approximately 10% of the diameter of the largest one of the spiral turns of the adjacent springs. Also described is a method of manufacturing a corresponding mattress.
