Switching between digital video streams using buffering of second digital video stream

A method (200, 300) for handling a plurality of digital video streams, each of the digital video streams being encoded in sequences of frames. Each of the sequences of frames comprising a key frame, at least one reference frame and further frames, said key frame and at least one reference frame suitable for deriving frame information for said further frames. The method comprises displaying (204) at least a first digital video stream to be displayed and buffering (206) at least one of said key frame or said at least one reference frame for a moving window of at least a second digital video stream allowing extraction of moving images from the buffered key frame or reference frame(s) when the second digital video stream is selected to be displayed. The invention also relates to a controller for controlling buffering of video information of a digital video stream not-displayed at that moment.
