<p>A dispenser (10) comprising a fingerprint reader (22) for a thumb, the fingerprint reader (22) being disposed above an outlet (21) for fluid and being adapted to be engaged by an inside surface of a user's thumb (32) extending upwardly relative to the upwardly directed palm (31) of a user's hand (30) while the user's hand (30) extends generally horizontally forwardly from the thumb. The palm (31) of the user's hand (30) receives fluid dispensed downwardly thereon from the fluid dispensing outlet (21) while the thumb (32) engages the fingerprint reader (22).
