A surgical apparatus for performing endoscopic or laparoscopic surgical procedures is disclosed. The apparatus includes a frame (600') and a bellows seal (742') which provides a seal between the frame and a clamping mechanism and the frame and a firing mechanism. The bellows seal (742') is positioned within the frame such that the bellows seal expands outwardly upon advancement of a clamp member (724') of the clamping mechanism to provide a seal within the frame or to increase the capacity of the seal within the frame (600').
