The reclining chair has a fixed back section (1) and/or arm rests (2). A back rest (3) is attached to these by a parallelogram lever system (4) which is connected by levers (5) at the top to a mounting (6) in it. This causes the back rest to swivel at the same time as it is lifted or lowered. An independent claim is included for the mounting system.
