<p>The invention relates to a set of parts 1 for assembly to provide apparatus 2 for removing particulate material from a liquid such as storm water, comprising a plurality, in the embodiment four, of stackable units 3 assembable in a substantially leak-free mode and a plurality of elements 4 adapted to provide for an internal flow passage 5 shown by arrows 'x' for liquid passing through the apparatus 2 whereby to separate particulate material from the liquid. The stackable units 3 comprise a plurality of plastic tubes having an external flanged surface, the tubes 3 being stacked end on end and being secured together by plastic welding to form the apparatus 2. The lower, as viewed and in use unit 3' is a blind unit i.e. one having a closed end which forms a base for the apparatus 2, the unit also providing a sump for collection of silt. The apparatus may contain a removable silt bucket 12 and a further element 15 to trap floating debris. The element 15 may further comprise a sponge-like filter (17).</p> |
