A method of making rice containing Scutellariae Radix by soaking rice in an aqueous solution containing herbal powder of Scutellariae Radix, Polygonatum odoratum and Gardeniae Fructus and then coating with an edible adhesive agent such as agar is provided. The rice has the same color as unpolished rice when cooked as well as good tackiness, taste, flavor and chewiness. Rice is soaked in an aqueous solution containing Scutellariae Radix powder and coated with an edible adhesive agent. The aqueous solution is prepared by the following steps of: soaking herbal powder in rice wine having an alcohol content of 5 to 10%, steaming, cooling, drying and grinding. The herbal powder contains 100 parts by weight of Scutellariae Radix, 10 to 20 parts by weight of Polygonatum odoratum and 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of Gardeniae Fructus. |
