The device has a refrigerating case (1) including a base (2) which is maintained on a cradle (3). The cradle includes a prehensile unit (4) and rollers (5) for displacing the device in the ground. Spaced horizontal rails (6, 6`) of the cradle rest on a chassis of a vehicle and are prolonged by vertical rails (8, 8`) supporting the prehensile unit. The horizontal rails include units for supporting the refrigerating case. The prehensile unit cooperates with a maneuvering arm of a loading and unloading system.
