Accelerated weight gains and improved feed conversions are obtained with poultry feeds containing a substance of formula: <FORM:0974755/A1-A3/1> in which each of R and R1 is hydrogen, an alkyl group of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, an aryl or aryloxy group of 6 to 8 carbon atoms or an aralkyl or aralkoxy group containing 7 to 10 carbon atoms, e.g. 6-ethoxy-2,2,4-trimethyl-1.2-dihydro-quinoline. For incorporation into the feed, the substituted dihydroquinoline may first be mixed into ground limestone, calcium phosphate, silica, vermiculite or the like. 0.025-0.20% of the dihydro-quinoline may be added. |
