<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the linear actuator which obtains a long stroke and bears the large load. <P>SOLUTION: A lower set plate 11 and an upper set plate 21 are arranged face to face horizontally, a lower screw shank 16 and an upper screw shank 26 are arranged vertically to the lower set plate 11 and the upper set plate 21, a lower rotary shaft 51 and an upper rotary shaft 61 are supported rotatably in the lower set plate 11 and the upper set plate 21, a lower nut 55 and an upper nut 66 which are screwed to the lower screw shank 16 and the upper screw shank 26 are fixed to the lower rotary shaft 51 and the upper rotary shaft 61, and the lower rotary shaft 51 and the upper rotary shaft 61 are driven forward and backward rotation by a worm wheel reduction gear. Further, it can bear a large load while a long stroke is obtained, because it moves up and down simultaneously by the lower nut 55 and the upper nut 66 which the lower set plate 11 and the upper set plate 21 fit to the lower screw shank 16 and the upper screw shank 26.
