<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of stably manufacturing a glass formed body which is a base material of a crystallized glass body and a method of suitably manufacturing the crystallized glass body, a magnetic disk substrate blank, a magnetic disk substrate and a magnetic disk from the glass formed boy. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the glass formed body is carried out by arranging a mold having a through hole having a linear center axis to make the center axis vertical or inclined to a horizontal line, pouring molten glass into the through hole to form to obtain the rod like glass formed body to become the base material of the crystallized glass body. The method of manufacturing the crystallized glass body by heat-treating the glass formed body, the method of manufacturing the magnetic disk substrate blank by slicing the crystallized glass body, the method of manufacturing the magnetic disk substrate by polishing the main surface of the magnetic disk substrate blank and the method of manufacturing the magnetic disk by forming a magnetic recording layer on the magnetic disk substrate are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
