BRAKE DEVICE FOR MOTORCYCLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase of power consumption in a brake device for a motorcycle capable of enhancing brake feeling by smoothly performing switching to a liquid loss simulator.

SOLUTION: The brake device for the motorcycle is provided with a brake operation part 2; a brake calliper 4; a solenoid opening/closing valve V1 for shutting off a main brake passage 5; a pressure sensor 28; a liquid pressure modulator 6; and the liquid loss simulator 9 and distributes braking force to front and rear wheels by controlling the liquid pressure modulator 6 based on the detection result of the pressure sensor 28. The brake operation part 2 is provided with a brake lamp switch 32 for detecting starting of the operation and operation of the solenoid opening/closing valve V1 is started based on the detection result of the brake lamp switch 32 to shut off the main brake passage 5. When an input is not performed to the pressure sensor 28 for a predetermined time in the stand-by state shutting off the main brake passage 5, shutting off of the main brake passage 5 is released.
