PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer-type measuring instrument capable of carrying out an initialization operation, while keeping performance effects of a pointer at start-up. SOLUTION: A plurality of inversion operations is inserted to be inverted by an angle, corresponding to a deflection angleθ2 between a zero scale position Pa and a zero scale side stopper position Pb at an equal angle, at least during the normal rotation of the pointer, in performance operation processing. The initialization operation is recognized as one of performance operations, by inserting a pointer operation same to the initialization operation during the performance operation by this manner.
