PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of improving startup characteristics and enhancing an assist force without causing energy loss or a weight increase. SOLUTION: A current source 21 which limits an output current value Ich to a predetermined value Imax, and has a boosting function capable of outputting by boosting a power supply voltage Vb, and a capacitor 22 capable of supplying to a drive circuit 12 by storing an output power of the current source 21 are provided on the way of a power supplying path 20 between a battery 13 and the drive circuit 12. The capacitor 22 is charged by the output power of the current source 21 where the output current value Ich is limited to the predetermined value Imax, and a drive power is supplied to the motor 2 from the power discharged from the capacitor 22, namely the voltage between terminals of the capacitor 22 when an assist force is applied.
