PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain miniaturization and cost reduction of an apparatus and to perform focusing with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus having an automatic focusing function for controlling an optical system for forming an optical image of an object to a focusing position, a signal processing circuit of the imaging apparatus has an AF operation processing part 53b having a high-pass filter 531a which performs processing to a processing signal in the horizontal direction, a high-pass filter 531b which performs processing to a processing signal in the vertical direction, a absolute value acquiring parts 532a, 532b which perform processing for acquiring an absolute value to an input signal, noise coring parts 533a, 533b which perform noise removal processing and limiter processing by a set threshold to the input signal and a correction/addition processing part 534 which performs correction processing by a correction coefficient and addition processing to the input signal.
