PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform secure communication between desired communication devices. SOLUTION: In a communication system 1, an HD recorder 13 or a VTR 14 acquires a communication function list from a TV 11 via a repeater 12 by NFC communication. The HD recorder 13 or the VTR 14 then transmits to the TV 11 a request of contents data by any communication means other than NFC communication on the basis of the communication function list and after confirming (authenticating) that the HD recorder 13 or the VTR 14 is a regular recipient of contents data, the TV 11 transmits the contents data by the same communication means as the communication means by which the contents data are requested.
