PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key telephone system capable of easily identifying an outside line on hold to respond to. SOLUTION: A display processing means 13b generates hold display information including at least the identification number of the outside line on hold and the name of a user to be a destination on the basis of destination information specifying the name of the user to respond to the outside line on hold and an outside line I/F part 11, and transmits it to other key telephone sets. Thus, since the identification number of the outside line on hold and the name of the user to respond to the outside line on hold are displayed at the image display parts 26 of all the key telephone sets, the user can recognize the outside line on hold and the user to respond to the outside line on all the key telephone sets. Thus, the user can respond to telephone communication with the outside line on hold addressed to himself/herself even by other telephone set which is not the key telephone set to be the destination.
