PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-insulated transformer which easily replaces gas in a short period of time and improves a cooling performance. SOLUTION: An iron core 2 and a winding 3 together with an insulating gas 4 are housed in a tank 1, and a cooling unit 6 is connected to the outside of the tank 1 through an upper piping 7a. The cooling unit 6 is connected to the lower part of the tank 1 through a lower piping 7b. An air blower 5 is arranged to the piping 7b. A branch piping 10 is connected to the piping 7b existing between the air blower 5 and the tank 1 with its end extended outside of a bulkhead 9. A first valve 11 is provided to the branch piping 10, and a second valve 12 is provided to the piping 7b between the branch to the branch piping 10 and the tank 1. A valve 8 for filling the insulating gas in the tank 1 and recovering the insulating gas from the tank 1 is provided to the lower part of the tank 1.
