PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum cathode foil for an electrolytic capacitor capable of obtaining a higher capacitance and a smaller secular change in the capacitance. SOLUTION: When the aluminum cathode foil for the electrolytic capacitor is manufactured after a Ti coating 7 is formed on a roughened aluminum substrate 6 by vapor deposition in a metal film forming process, an organic binder containing carbon particulates 2 dispersed therein is applied on it, and heated in a carbon particulate fixing process. After the metal film forming process and before the carbon particulate fixing process, a carbon layer forming process can be carried out for forming a carbon coating on the upper layer side of the Ti coating 7.
