PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the clogging of a filter element, while improving filtering accuracy of the filter element as much as possible. SOLUTION: The filter element 1 has two layers of non-woven fabric layers 12 and 12, and the mean diameter of holes of one of the non-woven fabric layer 12 is formed different from the mean diameter of holes of the other non-woven fabric layer 12. Among the two layers of the non-woven fabric layers 12 and 12, the mean diameter of the holes of the non-woven fabric layer 12 positioned on the inner side of the filter element 1 is formed smaller than the mean diameter of the holes of the non-woven fabric layer 12 positioned on the outer side.
