PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the amount of hydrogen sulfide generated in producing a polythiol oligmer by reacting a polythiol compound with sulfur. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a polythiol oligomer by reacting a polythiol compound, for example, 2,5-dimercaptomethyl-1,4-dithiane with sulfur in the presence of a basic catalyst, the total amount of the sulfur to be added is dividedly added to control the amount of hydrogen sulfide generated, and thus the generated amount of hydrogen sulfide on reaction can be controlled.
