摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord and rubber composite which realizes the certain adhesion of a cord and a rubber at the interface of them by the synchronization of vulcanizing reaction and adhesion reaction. SOLUTION: The steel cord and rubber composite is manufactured by coating a steel cord, which is composed of a plurality of steel wires of which the peripheral surfaces are subjected to plating, with a raw rubber and subsequently applying vulcanization treatment to the coated steel cord to integrally bond the steel cord and the rubber. In the stage before the vulcanization of the rubber is started in this manufacturing method, the particle size of CuxS of an adhesion precursor present in the boundary surface of the steel cord and the rubber is controlled to 40 nm or below and number of CuxS particles thereof is controlled to 1,000μm<SP>2</SP>or above before applying vulcanization treatment to the steel cord and the rubber.
