PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily make a rotary machining means for further machining the peripheral edge part of a spectacle lens approach the spectacle lens without interfering a rotating shaft of a lens after machining the peripheral edge of the spectacle lens held on the lens rotating shaft into a lens shape, and to easily set the boring position and the angle of the boring tool to the spectacle lens. SOLUTION: The spectacle lens ML is held in the direction substantially approximate its optical axis to grind the spectacle lens ML. The apparatus selectively uses a spectacle lens holder (a lens holder 124) to hold the lens so that the optical axis of the spectacle lens ML is substantially aligned with the direction orthogonal to the clamping shafts (the lens shafts 23, 24).
