Method for processing shredder residues of metal-containing waste comprises separating the shredder residue into a shredder light fraction and a non-ferromagnetic fraction (heavy fraction); and further separating the fractions in pre-processes into further material streams. Parts of one material stream are fed with parts of the other material stream to the main process for further processing. An independent claim is also included for a device for processing shredder residues of metal-containing waste. Preferred Features: A ferrous fraction, non-ferrous fraction, granulate fraction, lint fraction and a sand fraction are produced from the main process. The shredder light fraction is additionally pre-treated using a magnetic separator to remove ferromagnetic residual fractions.
