<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire having superior operability, torque transmission property, and a large penetration force and easily and safely passed even to a chronic complete obstruction lesion and a calcified lesion, and to provide a manufacturing method of an economical guide wire dispensing with work such as soldering a distal end tip. <P>SOLUTION: This guide wire 3 comprises a distal end side small diameter part 1 and a proximal side large diameter part 2 having the outer diameter larger than the distal end side small diameter part, and has a wire core wire; and is characterized in that the distal end side tip 4 has a projection 5 at its forefront. This manufacturing method of the guide wire 3 is characterized in filling a mold having a cavity of the distal end side tip 4 having the projection at its forefront with molten metal, molten thermoplastic resin or thermosetting resin, inserting the distal end side small diameter part 1 of the guide wire core wire in the mold, solidifying the molten metal, the molten thermoplastic resin or the thermosetting resin in the mold, and forming the distal end side tip 4 at the tip of the distal end side small diameter part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
